Duke Moore is an architect based in Falls Village, CT. He practices site specific green architecture that is both rational and creative. For twenty years, he was the owner of Moore Construction, a general contracting firm located in Litchfield County. During that time the firm did restoration, rehab and new construction. This involved hands-on work of carpentry, masonry, woodworking and cabinetry. During the 1970's and 1980's the company expanded to do real estate development, mainly restoring and renovating old houses as well as constructing new ones.
In the late 1980's Moore Construction evolved into Duke Moore AIA Architect, first working in New York city, then moving back full time to Litchfield County. Most of the firm's work consists of residential, civic, commercial, and light industry. The firm also does project management. He has been practicing green architecture since the 1990's.
Historic Preservation projects have included the Holley Williams House Museum in Lakeville, CT; the Salisbury Congregational Church, Salisbury CT; the Falls Village Railroad Station, Falls Village, CT; The Merwinville Hotel Railroad Museum, Gaylordsville, CT; as well as private residences.

In New York City, Duke Moore was responsible for overseeing large scale projects for James A. Gainfort AIA Architects, a firm specializing in curtain wall construction and the exterior envelope. Some of those projects included work at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum, Manhattan General Post Office, One Liberty Plaza, Damrosch Park.
He is licensed in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, and is LEED certified. He holds a B.A. from University of Connecticut and a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University; and is LEED AP. He is a member of the Connecticut AIA and the Connecticut Green Building Council.
Duke Moore is an adjunct professor at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie and also teaches at Northwest Community College in Winsted, CT.
